Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox born December 25, 1954, Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox received a scholarship to study at the London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. Lennox was able to live by surviving on a student stipend, while working part time jobs. Lennox felt that her skills were inferior to those of her Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative paths she could take. Lennox joined a group called Dragons Playground as the flute player in the year 1976. However, she left before the band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent show New Faces. From 1977 to 1980 she was main vocalist of The Tourists, a British Pop group. It was here that she met Dave Stewart and together they created the duo Eurythmics. Then, Lennox started working on her first solo album Diva that was released in the year 1992. The album was a massive achievement, both in terms of the sales as well as critical acclaim. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album came out in October 2014. The C.D. Lennox has picked her most favored jazz, blues and soul tracks. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox published Lepidoptera which is a compilation of four improvised piano tracks. This E.P. Her first solo album, which was released in conjunction with her work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled "Now I'll Let You Go." Annie Lennox is a Scottish musician and singer who was born on the 25th of December 1954. The Tourists were a new-wave group who had some popularity in the latter part of 1970s. Then, she became a part of the band with her fellow artist Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. The year 1992 was the year Lennox launched a solo career, releasing her debut album Diva which yielded numerous successful tracks, including Why and Walking in Broken Glass. Medusa, a 1995 studio album, features the cover versions of some popular songs such as No More I Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. Her solo catalog includes six studio albums, as well as one compilation album to her credit. |
